Grandmother Envy

I'm in an in-between season of my life....not an everyday mom and not a grandmother. My grown kids are great. They're responsible, hardworking, kind adults who just happen to be light years away from a marriage frame of mind. I'm good with that, but I have lots of friends who are becoming new grandparents with lots of cute photos to share. That also means baby showers and shopping for tiny, cute little
baby shoes and >
socks and clothes. Now, I'm not bitter....oh no.....that's not grandparent envy you detect in my tone. It's just all those
darling pink polka dotted dresses hanging on the rack,

going to waste, when they could be put to good use dressing up a baby girl in my family. That's okay....I can be patient. It's got to happen sooner or later. Right?

I went to a baby shower of my daughter's friend last weekend. ADORABLE little girly things. Yet, I'm in no hurry to become a gran-ma!

Little girl things are so cute! I'm not a grandma either and believe me, I'm okay with that (for quite a while). I do have nieces that keep me busy buying for great nieces and nephews!

Those are adorable things! I solved this problem by giving cutie pie things to my friend's grandkids. I don't have children of my own, so I'm happy when others' share their family with me! And I do have a niece or two or three or four or five or six. ;-)

XO,

Sheila :-)

I felt just like you for a long time. My sons married but didn't begin their families until college loans were paid off, a home was purchased, a good job was secure and they found a church they liked. I thought I was going to explode! But now I have 7 grandchildren, 6 boys and one, darling little girl. Sons are still married, the little ones are adorable and I am content.

Be patient, it will happen!

My husband and I waited over 7 years before we started our family.
Now they are teenagers and the time went by sooo fast!

You will be a grandma...when you least expect it!!!
