March Lilies

Here's what I did on my Spring Vacation..............picked March lilies from an old ruined farmhouse site. When you see that rough chimney through the woods and pick your way around the privet that's taken over, it's the most wonderful surprise to see the bright yellow heads bobbing up and down and giving off their sweet springy fragrance. They come from bulbs that were peddled generations ago to women keeping house out in the country. Now they've naturalized to sweep through whole openings in the woods. All that's left of the old homeplace is the stacked foundation, rock chimney, and daffodils bought from door-to-door salesmen.

How are you enjoying the Ultimate Blog party so far?
I actually got started a little late but I'm here.
Listening to some Ella Fitzgerald singing "That Old Black Magic". What a voice.
Stop by when you can.

ooooooh! Thank you for the lovely flower pictures...here in Michigan the snow is still covering most of the ground.

Most spring breaks we travel south and back up to MI to watch spring over and over:)
